New Approvals by Company:

Adama

  • has duplicated its Blanco product (M16704, clomazone) under the same name but with a new MAPP No (M21698) and while the original expires 15/12/2027, the new approval runs until 31/3/2029.
  • Adama has also duplicated its fluazinam product Volley (M21833) which is approved for use in GB only up until 28/8/2031. The original Volley (M 16451) which can also be used in NI expires 15/10/2028.  Of course, they never have a problem with blight!

BASF

  • BASF has 177 products approved by CRD for professional use and as of 1st Aug 138 of these have been duplicated under new MAPP Nos with the marketing company listed as BASF Agricultural Solutions (UK) Ltd with the same address as BASF at Cheadle. These new approvals are currently listed as PAR in UKPG but it seems likely that BASF Ag Solutions will be selling these in 2027. I await confirmation of this.
  • BASF Ag Solutions also has some new product approvals – Spectrum (M21670) – straight dimethenamid-P. Straight dimethenamid-P is not available from any other product since it has always been formulated with other actives. It is obviously a mixer product and is approved for use only in sugar beet at the moment.  Another is a new fungicide mixture in Elanvy (M21891, azoxystrobin + mefentrifluconazole) which would be expected to have a similar range of activity to products like Priori Gold and Angle (azoxystrobin + difenoconazole) but a label has not yet been received so it is currently listed as PAR.  It will be upgraded to a full entry when intention to market is confirmed and a label has been received.  At least it is approved in both GB and NI but note that it has a 42 day harvest interval in wheat, rye and triticale.

Bayer

  • Bayer has gained approval for a Defy mimic called Cofeno (M21855, prosulfocarb) but, unlike Defy, it can only be used before crop emergence in potatoes, winter wheat and winter barley.

Cropthetics

  • Cropthetics has a new trinexepac-ethyl product called Tellerat (M21880) with the same crop recommendations as similar trinexepac-ethyl products.

FMC Agro

  • FMC Agro now has an approval for Calibre SX (M21787, thifensulfuron + tribenuron) previously sold by Certis Belchim BV as M15032 and the new approval runs until 30/4/2034 while the Certis product now expires 31/12/2027.
  • Divapan (M21575, difenoconazole + prothioconazole) reported as approved for use in GB only last month is now also approved under another MAPP No (M21708) for use in NI only.
  • FMC has also duplicated its carfentrazone-ethyl products Shark (M18700 & 21545) and Spotlight Plus (M18698 & 21547) and while the originals were approved until 9/9/2099, they now expire 30/6/2028 while the new MAPP Nos run until 31/1/2036.

Sharda

  • Sharda has duplicated its Meqi product (M21637, metazachlor + quinmerac) under the new name Yacht (M21856), both approved for use on winter and spring oilseed rape.

Sipcam

  • Sipcam has duplicated its Bulldog product (M17538, diflufenican + pendimethalin) with a new MAPP No (M21788). The approval of the original has been reduced from 9/9/2099 to 31/12/2027 but the new one runs until 15/7/2029.

Sumitomo

  • Sumitomo has introduced a straight formulation of bromuconazole which was previously only available in mixture with tebuconazole. It is called Wasan (M21644) and is approved for use only on spring and winter wheat in GB only.

UPL Europe

  • UPL Europe now has a mimic of Amistar Top called Zoxis Top (M21578, azoxystrobin + difenoconazole) approved for use in GB only but while Amistar Top has 12 crops on the label, Zoxis Top is only approved for use on carrots, leeks, rocket and strawberries.
  • Also duplicated is Iodus (M19163 & 21857, laminarin) with the original now expiring 31/1/2028 but the new one approved until 31/8/2035.

YC Agro

  • YC Agro has expanded the crop list on its diflufenican + flufenacet product Manrope (M20772) to include spring wheat and spring barley at the lower dose of 0.3 l/ha. The approval only applies to use in GB since flufenacet expires in NI 31/12/2026.

EAMUs added:

  • Caligula (M20108, fluopyram + prothioconazole) has an EAMU allowing treatment of powdery mildew, Phoma, Ramularia and Cercospora in red beet in GB only.
  • Clayton Gatso (M21267, clethodim) has 4 EAMUs allowing treatment of grasses in linseed, celeriac, edible-podded peas, broad beans, dwarf French beans, bulb onions, garlic, shallots, runner beans and vining peas.
  • Coragen (M19498, chlorantraniliprole) has an emergency EAMU allowing treatment of beet moth in sugar beet but it expires 30 Sept.
  • Eternal (M12367, etoxazole) has two new EAMUs allowing control of two-spotted spider mites in protected strawberries and protected ornamentals in GB only.
  • Flyer 200 (M21082, pyraclostrobin) has an EAMU allowing treatment of a wide range of fungal diseases in nursery fruit trees and ornamental plant production.
  • Herbex (M21300, prosulfocarb) has 4 EAMUs allowing treatment of winter linseed, rye, triticale, carrots, parsnips, horseradish, parsley root, salsify, spring onions, bulb onions sets, garlic, shallots and leeks for annual meadowgrass and a range of annual dicotyledons.
  • Naturalis-L (M17526, Beauveria bassiana) has a new EAMU which replaces the current EAMU on protected mushrooms for Sciarid and Phorid flies which expires in September this year.
  • Prosuffix EC (M18774, prosulfocarb) now has four EAMUs allowing control of grass and broad-leaved weeds in an extensive range of vegetable crop such as celery, carrots, parsnip, horse radish, parsley root, salsify, onion sets, garlic, leek, shallots, broad beans and edible-podded and vining peas.
  • SL 567a (M20652, meataxyl-M) has an EAMU allowing treatment of downy mildew in cucumbers grown under permanent protection with full enclosure.
  • Thiapron (M20671, sulphur) has an EAMU allowing treatment of powdery mildew in hops with a 1 day harvest interval.

Changes to approval expiry dates:  CRD have extended the approvals of a number of products and actives, most of which are detailed below.

  • Azoxystrobin + prothioconazole: The approvals of Elassos, Kojami and Maxentis have been extended to 30/9/2029 in NI only. Approval in GB under different MAPP Nos lasts until 31/1/2032.
  • Bixafen + prothioconazole + spiroxamine: The approval of products containing this mix of actives such as Boogie Xpro, Conflate, Propel Xpro and Telmunden Plus has been extended to 30/9/2029.
  • Cinmethylin: The approval of Luxinum Plus (M21685) is set at 30/4/2034 but the original (M19978) has been reduced to 31/7/2030.
  • Cinmethylin + picolinafen: The approvals of Sovorna (M20853) and Agardia (M21857) have been extended to 31/7/2030 but approval is only for use in GB. Agardia is now also registered to BASF Ag Solutions (M21860) with the approval running until 31/12/2033.
  • Fenoxaprop-p ethyl: The approval of Foxtrot, Polecat and Oskar has been extended to 31/5/2029.
  • Fludioxonil + fluxapyroxad + triticonazole: The approval of both Kinto Plus products has been set at 30/3/2029
  • Fluopicolide + propamocarb hydrochloride: The approval of Infinito (M16335) has been extended to 28/2/2029.
  • Fluopyram + prothioconazole: The approvals Caligula, Drakix, LS Fluop-Prothio, Propulse and Recital have been extended to 30/9/2029.
  • Fluxapyroxad: The approvals of a further 14 products containing fluxapyroxad straight or formulated with difenoconazole, prothioconazole or mefentrifluconazole have been extended to 30/4/2030.
  • Fluxapyroxad + pyraclostrobin: The approval of Piaxor EC, Serpent, Syrex and Tevos has been extended to 15/3/2029.
  • Gibberellins +/- 6-benzyladenine: The approval of Chrysal BVB and 8 other gibberellin products has been extended to 30/4/2029.
  • Mefentrifluconazole + prothioconazole: The approval of Revypro (M21061) has been extended to 30/9/2029. This is one of the BASF products that has been duplicated under the BASF Agricultural Solutions banner.
  • Metalaxyl-M: The approval of SL 567a has been extended to 30/11/2037.
  • Pendimethalin + picolinafen: The approvals of Flight and Orient have been duplicated under a new MAPP Nos for BASF Agriculural Solutions UK Ltd and while the new approval still runs until 9/9/2099, the original approval now expires 31/7/2028.
  • Propamocarb hydrochloride: The approval of Previcur Flex, Promess and similar products has been extended to 31/7/2029.
  • Trichoderma atroviride strain I-1237: The approval of Tri-soil (M20800) has been extended in NI to 15/4/2030. It currently expires in GB 30/11/2027.

Withdrawals:

  • Branch (mepiquat chloride + prohexadione-calcium) is a Canopy mimic from Sharda approved for use in GB only. The original approval (M21621) is no longer listed by CRD, being replaced with M21297.
  • Cleranda (M15036, imazamox + metazachlor) has been commercially withdrawn by BASF and now expires 31/12/2027.
  • Sekator OD (M18905, amidosulfuron + iodosulfuron-methyl-sodium) has been commercially withdrawn by Sumitomo and now expires 31/10/2027.
