BCPC’s Online UK Pesticide Guide – New products and approvals September 2025
1st September 2025Updates to UKPG database for September 2025
Some new actives in the herbicide arena make a welcome debut this month with new modes of action that might help get on top of resistant weeds in cereals such as poppies and chickweed. Also of interest are the new approvals for glyphosate which allow use in Northern Ireland until 9/9/2099! The new approval docs only refer to a change in the expiry date and do not list any changes to the recommendations. Other main points are a wave of new EAMUs for glyphosate products from Bayer.
New Approvals:
- FMC has gained approval for a novel mixture of two new herbicide actives – beflubutamid and bixlozone in a product called Fundatis. It is approved for use on winter wheat and winter barley in GB only with activity against a range of annual dicotyledons and has some activity against blackgrass and Italian ryegrass. FMC hopes to sell some this autumn and it has been added to the database as a full entry.
- Barclay has two new approvals for Ardee XL (M17515, glyphosate) and their other glyphosate products, one for GB and one for NI, both of which run until 9/9/2099! A number of glyphosate products besides those from Barclays are now receiving approval for use in Northern Ireland up until 9/9/2099 as per the approval in GB so panic over and glyphosate will not disappear from Northern Ireland on 15/6/2026!
