The 2026 edition of the Green Book is now available. The amendments listed below occurred after the book went to print and are now shown in the on-line UKPG database and will be carried over to the 2027 edition.
New Approvals:
- Albaugh UK continues to duplicate its flufenacet products with Osprey now having two MAPP Nos. M21534 is approved for GB only and expires 30/4/2030 while M18657 expires in NI 10/12/2026 but continues in GB until 31/12/2029.
- Certis Belchim has gained approval for Neudosan (M21483), a product containing potassium salts of fatty acids which controls aphids, spider mites and white fly in a very wide range of outdoor and protected herb and vegetable crops with just a 1 day harvest interval. There are 111 named crops on the approval document, one of which is ‘herbs (other)! Certis has also gained another ferric phosphate approval in Cavalry (M21537) with approval on all edible and non-edible crops and on amenity vegetation. However, there is no mention of protected crops on the approval.
- Cropthetics has added apples, pears and cherries to the Kibera and Velmeri (M20760 & 20759, flonicamid) approvals for control of aphids.
- Life Scientific now has a mimic of Recital called Drakix (M21553, fluopyram + prothioconazole) for disease control in oilseed rape.
- Qemetica has duplicated many of its approvals because of a name change of the approval holder from the Polish office to the UK address. The company has confirmed that it will be selling some products in the UK this year and these have been promoted to full entries in the UKPG on-line database. The products concerned are Buguis (M21558, clodinafop-propagyl), Haskar 500 SL (M18446, MCPA), Metricam (GB only, M21566, metribuzin), POL MCPA 500 SL (M21564, MCPA) and Righteh 060 OD (M21541, nicosulfuron). Qemetica has also gained approval for a new glyphosate product that only contains 180 g/l – HalveticaA (M21478). It only has a limited range of crops on the approval which covers pre-em on grain and forage maize, apples and pears up to second fruit fall, stubbles of all edible and non-edible crops, hard surfaces, natural surfaces not intended to bear vegetation and permeable surfaces overlying soil. It is for use in GB only and is not approved in NI.
- Sharda continues to expand its portfolio with a folpet product called Freedom (M21442) approved for use only in GB. Sharda also has a Praxys mimic in Priest (M21518, clopyralid + florasulam + fluroxypyr) which is also approved for use in GB only on amenity grassland and managed amenity turf.
- Frunol Delicia Gmbh has duplicated its ferric phosphate product Limafer under a new MAPP No (M21506) with the new number approved until 30/6/2033 but the old number reduced to expire 31/1/2029.
- VextaChem has a 700 SC formulation of metamitron (M21562, V-tron 700 SC) to their portfolio of sugarbeet herbicides which also includes clethodim and ethofumesate products.
- 2022 Environmental Science (Envu) now has its own approval of the Syngenta product Actellic Smoke Generator No 20 (M21679, pirimiphos-methyl) and it is currently listed as PAR in the on-line database.
- BASF has added table grapes and wine grapes to the label of Privest (M20742, ametoctradin + potassium phosphonates) which can be used against downy mildew. This use was covered by a 2024 EAMU up to BBCH 83 (berries developing colour) but it now has a 35 day harvest interval.
- BASF has also extended the range of crops on the Belanty label (M20548, mefentrifluconazole) to include beans without pods (dry), combining and vining peas, field beans, carrots, parsnips, celeriac, swedes and turnips, broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, cabbages, calabrese and cauliflowers. These crops are in addition to the maize, sweetcorn and potatoes that are already on the label.
EAMUs added:
- Emerger (M19056, aclonifen) has two new EAMUs allowing treatment of outdoor and protected pot and bedding plants grown in containers > 10 cm (including hardy nursery stock (including Christmas trees and fruit nursery)) and non-bulb cut flowers.
- Fontellis (M20356, penthiopyrad) now has EAMUs allowing treatment of light leaf spot and powdery mildew in some brassicas and treatment of plum rust in plums. Note that use in GB and NI is covered by different EAMU numbers.
- Force ST has an emergency approval for treatment of onion and shallot seed against bean seed fly before drilling. The emergency approval expires 31/5/2026.
- Leptinox Plus (M16269, Bacillus thuringienis kurstaki) now has EAMUs allowing treatment of baby leaf crops and protected crops of chicory, witloof, cress, endives, lamb’s lettuce and rocket against moths, butterflies and cutworms. Note that GB and NI are covered by separate EAMU numbers.
- Leptinox Plus under a different MAPP No (M21436) is approved for use in GB only and this now carries a similar range of EAMUs to the original product. This covers fruit trees and bushes, beans, brassicas, sweetcorn, protected courgettes and summer squash, watercress, leeks, rhubarb and hemp grown for pharmaceutical use.
- Minecto One (M18649, cyantraniliprole) has an EAMU for control of aphids, leaf miner, flea beetle and silver Y moth on protected lettuce.
- Privest (M20742, ametoctradin + potassium phosphonates) has EAMUs for control of downy mildew in hops and, in GB only, protected and outdoor herbs.
- Roundup Energy (M21230, glyphosate) has 16 new EAMUs with 8 for use in GB and 8 for use in NI. They cover a wide range of crops including directed sprays in fruit trees and bushes and inter-row application in a wide range of row crop vegetables. For the full list see the on-line UKPG database or the CRD EAMU pages on their web site.
- Roundup Klik (M21232, glyphosate) has 6 new EAMUs, 3 for GB and 3 for NI allowing treatment of seeds grown for wild bird seed production, fruit trees and bushes, farm forestry, woad, hops, farm forestry and game cover.
- Roundup Powermax is only approved for use in NI but now has 10 new EAMUs covering a similarly wide range of crops to Roundup Energy above. CRD also lists the same uses under different EAMU numbers for use in GB but since Roundup Powermax is not currently approved for use in GB, these have been omitted from the database.
- Serenade ASO has a new MAPP No (M21220, Bacillus amyloliquifaciens) and has 21 EAMUs for control of botrytis in a range of crops in GB only. Together these EAMUs must cover almost all broad-leaved crops! One EAMU also allows a drench at drilling or planting to control Pythium, damping off, Phytophthera, butt rot or white rot as appropriate to the crop.
- Bayer have extended the latest time of approval of Conviso One (M20035, foramsulfuron + thiencarbazone-methyl) in ALS-resistant sugar beet and fodder beet from ‘before 8 leaves unfolded’ to ‘before 9 leaves unfolded’.
- SL 567A (M20652, metalaxyl-M) has an EAMU for control of downy mildew in a range of herbs, spinach, spinach beet and baby leaf crops.
- Zorvec Entecta (M20856, amisulbrom + oxathiapiprolin) has its fiest EAMU allowing treatment of downy mildew in bulb onions, garlic and shallots with a 28 day harvest interval.
- Apron XL (M21027, metalaxyl-M) has two EAMUs allowing seed treatment of red beet and carrots pre-drilling to prevent damping off in GB only.
- Force ST (M19042, tefluthrin) has another 2 EAMUs allowing pre-drilling treatment of seed to prevent bean seed fly attack in salad onions and leeks in GB only.
- Insyst SG (M21334, acetamiprid) has an EAMU allowing treatment of Myzus persicae and Black bean aphid in fodder beet.
- Thiapron (M20671, sulphur) has two additional EAMUs allowing treatment of powdery mildew in a range of cane fruits.
Changes to approval expiry dates: CRD have extended the approvals of a number of products and actives, most of which are detailed below.
- The approval of glyphosate products in Northern Ireland has been restored to 9/9/2099 to mirror the approval of these products in GB.
- The approval of Privest (M20742, ametoctradin + potassium phosphonates) has been reduced and now expires 19/10/2027.
- The approval of Nevada (M19967, florasulam + fluroxypyr) has been extended to 15/8/2029.
- The approval of Gazelle SG (M20034, acetamiprid) has been extended to 28/8/2035.
- The approval of some trinexepac-ethyl products such as Moddus, Optimus, and Moxa has been extended in GB & NI to 15/6/2028 but this is not currently shown on the CRD web page which lists expiry as 15/6/2027. However, each of these product entries has an amendment issued which details the extension to 15/6/2028. Some trinexepac-ethyl products also have a GB only approval which runs until 31/10/2031 and these will be shown separately in UKPG as the NI approval approaches expiry.
- The approval of Omnera LQM (M21363, fluroxypyr + metsulfuron + thifensulfuron) has been extended to 28/2/2029.
- The approval of 1,4Sight (M20158, 1,4-dimethylnaphthalene) has been extended in GB only to 31/12/2033.
- The approval of Bixafin 125 EC from Finchimica (M21266, bixafen) has been extended to 30/4/2030.
- The approval of Insyst SG (M21334, acetamiprid) has been extended to 28/8/2035.
