Updates to UKPG database for November 2026

Syngenta has just gained approval for Miravis in fruit and veg crops (see below) but the approval only permits use in GB, not NI.  Adama is making a lot of noise about its new cereal fungicide with a totally new mode of action and approval is expected in 2027 but, unless it is approved in Europe, where approvals are notoriously slow, that too will be for use in GB only. UK and Europe are about to discuss re-framing the exit agreement after a delay caused by the resignation of Sir Keir Starmer and Andy Burnham is saying that it would be a dereliction of duty if he did not try to amend the deal.  Watch this space?

New Approvals by Company:

Adama

  • Adama has a new approval for Shrapnel (phenmedipham, M21944) and while the approval of the original (M18234) has been extended to 30/9/2030, the new approval is for GB only but lasts until 31/1/2032.
  • Adama has also added triticale to the Magan label (M19715, prothioconazole) and the hazard statements have been removed from the label.

BASF Ag Solutions

  • Has duplicated its approval of Flight under a new MAPP No (M21962, pendimethalin + picolinafen) and the approval runs until 15/7/2029 while the earlier approval is reduced to 31/7/2028.

Bayer

  • Bayer has gained approval for a novel fungicide mix to be used as a seed treatment for sugar beet. The product is called Scenic Gold (M21910) and contains a mixture of fluopicolide and fluoxastrobin.
  • Bayer has three straight aclonifen products and four that contain aclonifen, diflufenican and flufenacet but now it also has one that contains only aclonifen + diflufenican (Mateno Duo M21742) that adds winter rye, spelt, oats and triticale to the wheat and barley approved for the 3-way mix.

Globachem

  • Globachem now has a Helix mimic in Kelvoro (M21974, prothioconazole + spiroxamine) which has been listed as PAR in the database.

Life Scientific

  • Has gained another approval for its boscalid product which is now also approved as Ropic (M21953) which is currently listed as PAR in the database.
  • Building on its recent approval of LS Pyrac back in September it also now has a further three straight pyraclostrobin products in Oria (M21977), Tomec (M21976) and Vaganda Prime (M21975) which mimic Platoon from BASF.

Mitsui

  • Mitsui has gained approval for penthiopyrad as a seed treatment for use in fodder beet and sugar beet. It is currently listed as PAR until a label is available and intention to market confirmed.

One Agriculture AG

  • This is a new supplier which currently has just one approval in the UK – Neola (M21951) which is a 250 g/l azoxystrobin product like many others. The company’s web page lists Meruba (mesotrione) as one of its products but it is not currently approved in the UK.

Origin

  • Origin now has a 240 g/l clodinafop propargyl product called Cleancrop Subject (M21968) which has been added as PAR to the database.

Rainbow

  • Has duplicated its captan product Colpane under the new name of Whitable (M21921)but both are approved for use in GB only on apples and pears.
  • Rainbow also has a new standard mesotrione product in Flenid (M21969) which is listed as PAR in the database.
  • Another new product for Rainbow is Galdero (M21904, quizalofop-P-ethyl) which is a mimic of Targa Super (50 g/l) not Targa Max which is 100 g/l.

Sharda

  • Sharda has gained another approval for their pyraclostrobin products which is now also approved under the name Elevate (M21515).

Sipcam

  • Sipcam has expanded the range of crops that can be treated with Bismark CS (M21290, clomazone + pendimethalin) with the approval now including beans without pods (fresh and Dry), broad beans, runner beans and dwarf French beans. The 2027 edition of UKPG is currently being prepared so these uses will be added to the database once the proof is finalised.

Syngenta

  • Has further broadened the range of Miravis products with the approval of Miravis 200 SC (M21950, pydiflumetafen). This is an SC formulation unlike the other EC Miravis products and is approved on a range of fruit and vegetable crops.  This covers potatoes, apples, pears, medlar, quince, courgettes and summer squash, table and wine grapes, carrots, parsnip and parsley root, broccoli, Brussels sprouts and kohl rabi.  A label has not yet been received but likely activity has been taken from the American approved label: https://www.syngenta-us.com/current-label/miravis .  The UK label is approved for use in GB only like all the other pydiflumetafen approvals.
  • Syngenta has also gained approval for Axial Pro under a new name of Rescue II (M21945, pinoxaden) and the new product loses the use on wheat and barley, retaining just amenity grassland and managed amenity turf. The approval doc still mentions that use on wheat and barley should only be after 1st Feb in the year of harvest but this is clearly a carry-over from the Axial Pro approval and should be ignored.
  • Also new for Syngenta is an alternative name for Miravis Era. Now this mixture is approved as Miravis Advance (M21948, prothioconazole + pydiflumetafen) and like Era, it can be used on wheat, barley, durum wheat, oats, rye, spelt and triticale but in GB only.

EAMUs added:  With BASF plc morphing into BASF Agricultural Solutions (UK) Ltd and the re-registration of most products under new MAPP Nos for the new company name, more new EAMUs have been authorised since EAMUs are MAPP No specific.  Some of these are detailed in the list of new EAMUs below.
