2018 Student BCPC Award goes to Akib Jahir

The BCPC Student Award 2018 has been awarded to Akib Jahir for outstanding work on the MSc in Integrated Pest Management.

“Akib has been an excellent student throughout the year,” said Dr. Tom Pope, Crop and Environmental Sciences, Harper Adams, University who presented the award at Akib’s graduation. “He has consistently scored well during the taught part of the course.  His research project investigated the use of plant materials to enhance trapping efficacy of ChemTica traps to monitor vine weevil numbers within crops in order to improve management of this important pest. Akib’s work has made a substantial contribution to the development sustainable approaches to the control of this pest.”
