New fields for BCPC’s Online Pesticide Manual

Two new fields have been added to the Regulatory section of The Online Pesticide Manual:

• Japan (JMAFF) status – the registration status of a pesticide with the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
• UK (HSE) status – the registration status of a pesticide with the UK Health and Safety Executive.

The intent of these new fields is to provide users of the Pesticide Manual a broader perspective on the registration status of pesticides around the world. Previously the Manual included the approval status of pesticides with the USA EPA and the EU only.

New Pesticides added to the Pesticide Manual and Compendium of Pesticide Common Names

• dimpyrargyl – A pyrazolecarboxamide insecticide from Qingdao KingAgroot Chemical Compound Co. An analog of dimpropyridaz (BASF).
• cyanoflanilide – A meta-diamide insecticide from Metisa Biotechnology Co. An analog of broflanidlide (Mitsui Chemicals Crop and Life Solutions).
• nafoxametamide – An isooxazoline insecticide from Shandong Chengchuang Lanhai Pharmaceutical Technology Co. An analog of the “laners”, which are widely used as animal endectocides, and the agricultural insecticides fluxametamide (Nissan) and isocycloseram (Syngenta).
• erysichrona – A fungicide, specific for control of Erysiphe necator, from GreenLight Biosciences. A very large macromolecule consisting of a double-stranded chain of nucleotides (RNA). This is the first example of a fungicide that functions by RNA interference or RNAi
• cyprometoxazam – A fungicide from Syngenta Crop Protection.
• fenargimine – A nematicide from SML Limited. A derivative of the amino acid, arginine.
• fentiazoluron – An insecticide from Corteva Agriscience. This appears to be the first member of a novel insecticide class.
• carmeconazole – A triazole fungicide from Kureha Corp.
• enprocymid – A pyrazolecarboxamide fungicide from Jiangsu Flag Chemical Industry Co., Ltd.
• sulfindoflufen – An acaricide and insecticide from Shaanxi Sunger Road Bio-Science Co., Ltd. A member of the (fluorinated)alkylthio benzene series which includes flupentiofenox (from Kumiai), bisulflufen (Jiangsu Yangnong Chemical Co., Ltd.) and sulfiflumin (Bayer CropScience).
• flupymezotiaz – A mesionic insecticide from Qingdao KingAgroot Chemical Compound Co. Ltd.
