BCPC’s Online UK Pesticide Guide – New products and approvals May 2025

1st May 2025

Updates to UKPG database for May 2025

Some new products to add to the database this month and they are listed below.  They have currently been listed as PAR entries until a label text is available and confirmation of the intention to market has been received.

New Approvals:

  • New product: Adama has launched a novel mix of existing active ingredients in Timeline FX (M21228).  It is approved for use in GB only in the UK and contains florasulam, fluroxypyr and pinoxaden so offers control of annual dicotyledons, blackgrass and ryegrass in spring and winter wheat, winter rye, winter triticale and durum wheat.  A label is not yet available so is currently listed as PAR but will be upgraded to a full entry when full details are obtained.  It has been launched globally so is also available in many markets around the world.
  • Nufarm has increased the quantity of Agritox (MCPA, M14894) allowed on grassland from 3.3 l/ha/year to 6.6 l/ha/year.
  • Globachem has a mimic of Propel Xpro in Conflate (M21277, bixafen + prothioconazole + spiroxamine) and for Aviator in Starinta Duo HL (M21265, bixafen + prothioconazole), both of which have been added as PARs. Note however that the Starinta Duo HL is only approved on wheat, rye and triticale and does not have the approval on oilseed rape that the Aviator label carries.
  • BASF has added oilseed rape to the Revydas label (M20774, boscalid + mefentriflucon-azole) for control of sclerotinia and moderate control of altenaria pod spot.
  • Clayton has a new rimsulfuron product that mimics Titus in Claudius (M21273, 25% w/w rimsulfuron) approved in GB and NI for weed control in potatoes and forage maize.
  • Clayton also has a Dingo mimic (M21278, clopyralid + florasulam + fluroxypyr) but the Clayton product is restricted to forage maize, grass and newly-sown leys while Dingo also has a wide range of cereal crops on the approval.
  • Syngenta has extended the range of crops on the Taegro label (M19204, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain FZB24). Used to control grey mould and powdery mildew it can now also be applied to sugar beet and to protected brassica seedlings.
  • Bayer has gained a garlic extract product called Velsinum (M21298, 1000 g/l garlic extract) that mirrors the recommendations of Nemguard SC from EcoSpray and can be used to treat nematodes in potato crops.
  • Sharda now has a mimic for Squire Ultra in Acme (M21318, amidosulfuron) for weed control in grassland. The company also has an identical product called Amy (M21317) which mimics the Eagle uses on cereals but without the note that allows use on cereals undersown with grass.
  • Tamonco has duplicated their chlormequat product Adjust with a new MAPP No – M21262.
  • Corrections: In last month’s bulletin I noted that FMC’s Dephend Delta and Terrane Total now have a recommendation in spring barley and spring wheat. The maximum total dose in winter barley and winter wheat is just 0.6 l/ha, not 6.0 l/ha as typed while the maximum in spring wheat and barley was correctly listed as 0.3 l/ha. Apologies for the typing error but the data is correctly entered in the UKPG database.  Also CRD has corrected the contents of Mateno Star (M21174) listed back in February to 450:30:90 g/l of aclonifen + diflufenican + flufenacet.

EAMUs added:

  • Revus (M17443, mandipropamid) has gained an EAMU allowing treatment of downy mildew in red beet.
  • Bandera (M20814, nicosulfuron) has gained an EAMU for control of annual meadowgrass, ryegrass and annual dicotyledons in sweetcorn, including crops grown under protective plastic mulches.
  • Roundup ProActive (M21225, glyphosate) now has an EAMU allowing application of 10.0 l/ha around Christmas trees for control of annual and perennial weeds.
  • Spruzit (M18434, pyrethrins + rapeseed oil) has an EAMU allowing treatment of insect pests on protected blackberries, loganberries, raspberries and Rubus hybrids in GB only but it does include crops under permanent protection with full enclosure.
  • Trianum P (M16741, Trichoderma afroharzianum) has two new EAMUs allowing treatment for fusarium, pythium and rhizoctonia in broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbages, calabrese, cauliflowers, choi sum, collards, kale, kohlrabi, oriental cabbage and herbs grown under permanent protection with full enclosure.
  • Albaugh UK has duplicated the approval of Kingsley (dicamba + nicosulfuron) under a new MAPP No (M21295) as they transfer the approval from Rotam to Albaugh.
  • Bayer has duplicated Liberator under a new MAPP No (M21296) with no apparent change to contents or expiry date.
  • Bayer has also obtained 50 EAMUs for Serenade ASO (M16139) but generally half of these are for GB use only while the other half are for use in NI. They do not expand the potential uses of this product however since they largely replace previous EAMUs that have expired and are no longer listed on the CRD web page.
