Brighton 1998 Bursary Award Winners
Release date: 17 November 1998

Each year, the British Crop Production Council (BCPC) makes up to three bursary awards to suitably qualified scientists from outside the UK to attend the Brighton Conference. The aim of these bursaries is to assist a delegate, who, due to lack of available funding, would otherwise be unable to attend. These bursaries assist with the cost of travel to Brighton, accommodation and registration to the Conference.

Attending this year's Conference, held between 16-19 November 1998, as bursary holders are:

Dr Maxwell Suckling, from the Horticulture and Food Research Institute of New Zealand Ltd, Christchurch, New Zealand,

and

Professor Vladimir Zakharenko, from the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Moscow.

All those wishing to be considered for a bursary for the 1999 Brighton Conference - Weeds should contact BCPC at 49 Downing Street, Farnhan, Surrey GU9 7PH early in 1999 to request an application form. The closing date for applications will be 31 March 1999.
