Focussing on Food Each year, the Conference programme opens with a key note lecture - the Bawden Memorial Lecture named after Sir Frederick Bawden, the first President of the BCPC. Complementing the food theme, this year, the 29th lecture entitled "Risks and benefits of crop protection strategies - Food safety aspects" will be presented by Dr Jørgen Schlundt, Co-ordinator of the Food Safety Programme, World Health Organisation (WHO), Geneva, Switzerland.
