A food roadshow taking place at Glasgow’s SECC next week will provide a variety of entertainment for children, parents, teachers and anyone interested in discovering more facts about food and how it is produced.

The CropLife International ‘Food for Life’ roadshow will take place outside the main entrance of the SECC every day from October 15-18, incorporating up to 15 exhibits including interactive games for kids and featuring real life ‘creepy crawlies’ feasting on crops.

From an historical point of view, one exhibit shows visitors just how little our ancestors ate and what little choice they had to eat, over 200 years ago, and, conversely, just how much variety and quantity of food we have today.

Teachers might also like to know that a demonstration of a new series of beautifully illustrated books can be viewed at the road show. The five books under the ‘Beginners Life to Science’ title, supporting Key Stage 1 Life Processes & Living Things curriculum, offer both cross-curricular learning while literally “bringing science to life” for primary school children in years 1, 2 and 3.

The Food for Life roadshow is free to enter and will be outside the main entrance at Glasgow’s SECC, October 15-18, during the Ideal Home Exhibition and BCPC Congress.
