BCPC Seminars 2004

News Releases

1 November 2004

The BCPC Seminars – Crop Science & Technology 2004 event, which begins today at the SECC Glasgow, is set to be another success with delegates, visitors and commercial contributors registered from over 60 countries worldwide.

"The event has recently been hailed as the King of International Meetings," says Mr Chris Todd, managing director of BCPE. "We have been told that no other meeting assembles as many of the world’s foremost international crop protection companies in one place and BCPC is justifiably proud of its reputation in this arena."

With changes to the programme, content and style which was first showcased in 2003 covering the issues of crop production, the environment and the food chain, there is now the potential for participation from a much wider audience than ever before. Over the last few years there has been a significant attendance from China , South East Asia and Eastern Europe which certainly adds to the truly international nature of the event.

"Companies attending from China know that there will be a strong European presence at the event which provides an ideal opportunity to arrange meetings, it also provides an opportunity to network with other companies from around the world" explains Ma Chunyan, CCPIT Sub-Council of Chemical Industry, Beijing. "It also means that CCPIT can promote the activities of the crop production industry in China to the rest of the world."

Packed exhibition

This year the BCPC Exhibition has sold out, with more than 100 exhibitors, including 30 new companies exhibiting for the first time, from over 12 countries worldwide. Increasingly companies are using this annual BCPC event to launch new products. Exhibiting companies cover a wide range of market sectors including; research and development, consulting, formulation, packaging, application, instrumentation, manufacturing, finished products, publishing and education.

"New for 2004 has been the introduction of meeting booths for companies wishing to have a base close to the Exhibition Hall and the Seminars Suite," explains Dr Colin Ruscoe, exhibition director. "The uptake on these booths has been very positive and will enable companies to hold their commercial business meetings at the hub of the event. We shall certainly be looking to expand this facility in the future."
