BCPC presents Garden Detective CD to visiting Secretary of State 16 July 2004 Dr Trevor Lewis CBE presented The Right Honourable Margaret Beckett MP, Secretary of State at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), with a copy of the popular Garden Detective CD when she visited the BCPC stand at the Royal Show, held at Stoneleigh, UK from 4 to 7 July 2004. BCPC's Garden Detective CD-ROM, an aid to identifying and managing pests, diseases and weeds in the garden, was on display in the Science into Practice area hosted by the Scottish Agricultural College . Since its launch in May 2003 great interest has been shown in Garden Detective by gardeners and growers using either conventional or organic cultivation methods. The control advice on Garden Detective for fruit and vegetables is regularly updated via online downloads. Recent additions include more biocontrol products and links to suppliers. Keeping up to date with recent changes in the law, a full list of withdrawn garden products is easily accessed from the website, www.gardendetective.com. More detailed product updates will be added in the next few months. |
