Reading BCPC News
BCPC News is distributed from a list server in both HTML and plain text formats. You will receive the plain text version only if your e-mail program has been set to reject HTML messages.
BCPC News contains ‘live links’ (URLs) direct to each news item. For the 'live links' to work, you will need to see on the screen, one continuous line of blue, underlined text from "http" to the end of the URL. In some cases the URL will have been broken because of the way word wrapping has been implemented in different e-mail programs.
If this happens:
- OPEN the BCPC News message, select EDIT, then select EDIT MESSAGE.
- Move the cursor to the end of the first blue line and hit DELETE (once only) to remove the unwanted "newline".
- If the URL has been broken more than once, repeat the DELETE at the end of the next section of the URL.
Once the whole URL has been joined together into one continuous line of blue, underlined text, CLOSE (with Save Changes). The 'live link' should now work.
A fully formatted copy of the current issue of BCPC News can be accessed as a webpage from the BCPC website.
