Delivery problems
To ensure that delivery of BCPC News is not blocked by your e-mail system please add BCPCNEWS@101emailmarketing.co.uk to your address book and to your safe senders list.
NB: Do not use this address to SEND us a message - it works only with a direct REPLY from a copy of BCPC News.
Hard Bounce
If BCPC News is rejected by your e-mail system as a "Hard Bounce" your e-mail address will automatically be removed from our distribution list. We cannot reset this. To restore your e-mail address to our distribution list you must subscribe again, using the registration form on the BCPC website - click here
Soft Bounce
If BCPC News is rejected by your e-mail system as a "Soft Bounce" on three occasions, your e-mail address will be 'suppressed' from our distribution list. We cannot reset this. To restore your e-mail address to our distribution list you must subscribe again, using the registration form on the BCPC website - click here
The system can record several different reasons for the occurrence of a "Soft Bounce":
General bounce
Mail blocked (no reason stated)
Mail blocked - Relay denied
Mail blocked - Spam detected
Soft bounce - Mailbox full
Soft bounce - DNS failure
This information may be useful to your IT staff when they investigate any delivery problems.
How does the resubscribe process work?
1. Once you have submitted the signup form you will be shown a message stating when you were unsubscribed and why (whether it wasbecause your email account bounced a previous message or at your request). This message will indicate that you have been sent an e-mail to confirm you do wish to sign up again.
2. An e-mail will be sent to the address you entered in the sign-up form asking you to confirm that you do want to sign up. This e-mail will contain two links: one link for you to click to get to the confirmation page, and the other link to report that it was not you who made the request and to report abuse.
Separate Notification
If your e-mail address is 'suppressed' from our distribution list, we shall try to contact you separately by e-mail a few days after sending teh affected issue of BCPC News. This notification e-mail will be sent from 'news@bcpc.org' (IP address 213.83.114.2). If your e-mail address is no longer valid or your mailbox is full, you will not be able to receive this notification message. Some systems have blocked delivery of these messages with the response "No relaying allowed": If this happens we cannot contact you.
If you or your organisation's IT staff encounter any problems with this, please let us know
