LABELLING - ITS ROLE IN INFORMATION TRANSFER

This event will be the inaugural Trade Services Seminar. It has been devised to address the link between the well established scientific content of the annual BCPC Conference at Brighton and the more practical, commercial aspects of the industry represented within the Trade Services Exhibition.

The ultimate responsibility for the safe and effective use of an agrochemical rests with the end-user - the farmer. However, the effectiveness of the transfer of information to the end-user lies with several partners in the product production chain - notably, the manufacturer, the regulator and the producer of the printed information. In an attempt to fulfil these legal responsibilities, labels all too often become overcrowded and complicated. A situation which may well get worse with the impending introduction of the Dangerous Preparations Directive.

This seminar will therefore address the case for providing the necessary information which meets both the statutory requirements, yet is still presented in a helpful and user-friendly manner.
