The programme of BCPC Commercial Events 2007 – including the Exhibition,
Hospitality, Commercial Seminars and Agrow Awards, held alongside the IPPC
Congress, proved a great success. Over 2000 attendees from over 90 countries visited the event over the three days.

Total Attendees: 2033
Here are some images from the various attractions:
The Exhibition

With over 100 organisations participating, key features of this year’s Exhibition were:
……strong representation from companies in plant nutrition,

a record number of exhibitors from contract R&D, including a number of new faces

alongside exhibits on formulation, packaging and application

New exhibits included control of insect vectors of disease, reflecting the growing
importance of the non-crop market, as well as displays on biopesticides and
environmental protection

The Congress and Exhibition Reception: Held in the Exhibition Hall, this gave Exhibitors the opportunity to invite guests, demonstrate their offerings, and network with delegates. Standholders also issued invitations to customers to meet for drinks on their stands - and in one case on their yacht at the SECC Clyde dock next to the centre!

This and the Congress posters ensured a good flow-through of delegates.
Commercial Seminars: Sponsored by Exhibitors and other organizations, this new and popular two-day programme of six talks covered business and techno-commercial topics, in both the crop and non-crop sectors, and was well attended, despite “competition “ from the main Congress programme!

The Agrow Awards: Co-sponsored by Agrow and BCPC, this gala dinner and industry award ceremony was a sell-out. Held at the Hilton Hotel, and compered by Giles Brandreth, it was an exciting – and very humorous – evening.

DuPont took three of the ten company awards – for most innovative chemistry, best novel biotechnology and best R&D pipeline. See www.agrow.com/top_story.shtml for the latest news.

The “Food for Life”Roadshow: At the SECC entrance, with exhibits and
demonstrations for all with an interest in food and crop protection, focusing on informing teachers and young children. The German Crop Protection Pest Control and Fertilizer Association won the Agrow award for the best public outreach programme for this initiative.
