The Congress programme
Running over three and a half days, the Congress programme covers familiar crop protection subjects expected at such an event, plus more novel cutting-edge technical topics. Social and ethical issues are discussed and the role played by agriculture in the alleviation of global poverty is addressed.

In brief, the Congress includes:

• More than 40 spoken platform sessions;
• Over 160 international expert platform speakers;
• 250 expected poster presentations;
• Three keynote presentations;
• A debate to mark the birth of Rachel Carson and her book – Silent Spring;
• Two specialist symposia organised by CGIAR and SCI;
• Pesticide resistance management forum.
