The Congress programme
Running over three and a half days, the Congress programme covers familiar crop protection subjects expected at such an event, plus more novel cutting-edge technical topics. Social and ethical issues are discussed and the role played by agriculture in the alleviation of global poverty is addressed.
In brief, the Congress includes:
- More than 40 spoken platform sessions;
- Over 160 international expert platform speakers;
- 250 expected poster presentations;
- Three keynote presentations;
- A debate to mark the birth of Rachel Carson and her book – Silent Spring;
- Two specialist symposia organised by CGIAR and SCI;
- Pesticide resistance management forum.

Running alongside the technical Congress is a series of Sponsored Commercial Seminars. These stand-alone events are designed to appeal to directors and senior managers with a more commercial bias who may be in Glasgow pursuing their own business activities.
